Breakfasts at the venue, which has seven letting rooms and is situated on the high street in the town, will start on Saturday, 13 May. The pub opened on Saturday (6 May).
It will offer a breakfast and brunch – the full English has Hampshire pork sausage, hand-carved bacon, black pudding, eggs field mushroom, baked beans, roasted tomato and fried bread for £8.95.
The Vegetarian breakfast boasts avocado, roasted tomato, red pepper hummus, eggs, field mushroom and fried bread at £7.95.
Lighter options
There is also a children’s breakfast option priced at £4.95 with sausage, egg, baked beans and hash browns.
For those that don’t want the full works, there is a range of toasted English muffins priced from £7.95 to £8.95. Options include Benedict – smoked ham, poached eggs and hollandaise; Royale – smoked trout, poached eggs and hollandaise; and Florentine – sautéed spinach, grilled field mushroom and hollandaise.
There is also a light breakfast option with two slices with preserves and butter for toast £2.50 and fruit compote-topped yogurt with multi-seed granola at £4.95.
More demand on a high street
Red Mist Leisure founder Mark Robson said:“We don’t normally offer breakfasts because most of our pubs are rural and there is not much demand. The Red Lion is slightly different as it is not only on a high street it also has letting bedrooms.
“There is always more demand for coffees and breakfast on a high street. But if we have people in cooking breakfast for the letting rooms then why wouldn’t we do it.”
The Red Lion is the eighth pub for the Red Mist Leisure group.
The Farnham-based company, in Surrey, founded by Mark Robson and Mark Williams has invested more than £500,000 in the venue.
