Fuller’s takes over popular Docklands gastropub from ETM
Fuller’s, which recently launched new food and chef-focused campaign Fuller’s Kitchen, acquired the site for an undisclosed amount.
Tom Martin, co-owner of ETM Group, told the Publican's Morning Advertiser's (PMA) sister publication MCA the decision to sell the Gun was part of a strategic overview of the business that would include the opening of three new central London sites later on in 2016.
Proud guardians
“We have thoroughly enjoyed being the proud guardians of the 200-year-old Grade II-listed property since 2004 but are delighted that Fuller’s are now taking the helm.”
ETM was confident Fuller’s would maintain the venue’s high standards, he added.
Fuller’s will not make any redundancies and all current staff at the 80-cover site are set to stay on.
London gem
Chief executive Simon Emeny told MCA: “[The Gun] is popular, well-known and held in high regard for its exceptional food and location.
“Opportunities to buy pubs like the Gun don’t come along every day and we are delighted to add this London gem to our portfolio.”
Emeny recently told the PMA the food offer at Fuller’s had not always had the attention it deserved and the company planned to be “as famous for its food as it is for its beer”.
