Bidvest launches summer range with vegetarian and barbecue focus
The range includes a variety of new own-brand and branded products as well as a focus on vegetarian products.
Bidvest Foodservice campaign and activation manager Gail Bridgeman said: "With more consumers choosing vegetarian meals as part of a lifestyle choice, it is essential summer menus also cater for this demand.
"Within the Create Summer range, we have included everything from Quorn sausage patties to spicy bean burgers, vegetarian chicken strips and sausage rolls, making it easy for operators to add a wide selection of meat-free options to their offering."
Fresh
The range also features a large variety of fresh meat products from Bidvest's Farmstead brand, aimed at operators who want to utilise outdoor space by hosting barbecues during the summer months.
To accompany the launch of the range, the company is offering customers a range of discounts on selected products until 27 May.
Earlier this month, Bidvest announced the acquisition of south-west distributor Caterfood – a move which it said would strengthen its reach.
Growth
Bidvest aspires to be within 80 miles of all its customers, with a particular focus on growth in the south-west of England and parts of Scotland, chief executive officer Andrew Selley told the Publican’s Morning Advertiser.
"We're always on the lookout for small, unique companies and we see there are more opportunities for acquisitions," he said.
However, the company was also building new sites, with one set to open in Slough, Berkshire, in June, he added.
Previously known as Bidvest 3663, the company renamed itself as Bidvest Foodservice in June 2015 before relaunching its entire own brand portfolio of food, drink and non-food products in January 2016.
