Enterprise Inns’ partnership with Pieminister hailed a success

Enterprise Inns’ has hailed its partnership with award-winning British pie company Pieminister as a success.

Joint venture has been growing “from strength to strength”, providing high-quality food offers to leased and tenanted pubs.

Pieminister’s ethical approach to food and customer experience shared many of the pub company’s consumer needs.

Enterprise Inns’ retail concept director Steve de Polo said: “Using our understanding of the sector and our segmentation tool, we found that Pieminister would provide a simple, quality food solution for our publicans.

“It provides ‘real’ wholesome food, which can be served immediately.  It is ethically produced and its vast range of innovative fillings provide the element of discovery.”

‘Stand-out’ food offer

De Polo said the partnership has benefited the food offers in a number of Enterprise pubs, such as the Barley Mow in Brighton, East Sussex.

After three weeks of full refurbishment, the site also launched its new “stand-out” food offer to its customers.

Operator Julie Karuzas said: “The partnership attracted me because of the support that comes with it and the quality of the pies.

“It seemed like the right fit for our pub so I decided to go with it.”

She added: “So far, our customers have loved the pies and we’re attracting people who wouldn’t previously have come to the pub.”

Massive difference

Meanwhile, the Carters Arms in Wilmslow, Cheshire, gained significant profit three months after introducing its new food offer Pieminister’s food accounted for 15% of sales.

Licensee Mikey Sharples said: “It’s a remarkable turnaround from a former wet-led-pub and we’re looking to get that figure up to 20% over the coming months.”

The pub’s reopening and new food offer has attracted a new wave of customers, Sharples added.

He said: “We’re already 75% of the way towards our two-year trade objectives.”

Pieminister’s sales minister Dan Orcese also praised the “very positive” impact of the partnership and the favourable customer feedback on social media.
