Over 40% more UEFA Champions League for TNT Sports pubs this season

European football returns to TNT Sports this September and this season is bigger and better than ever.

Major changes to the formats of the three main competitions mean more matches and more that matter for pubs to screen throughout the season.

In total there will be a massive 546 games in Europe​ – up by 28%.​

UEFA Champions League​

All European games are again available to TNT Sports commercial customers, with our subscription now including Prime’s exclusive Tuesday games in the UEFA Champions League.

Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Aston Villa will all be attempting to go deep in this season’s UEFA Champions League.

The four Premier League clubs will be joined by the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Celtic in a new 36 team league format.

Instead of playing in groups with three matches at home and three away, each team will play eight different sides – four at home and four away – in the new format.

The top eight placed sides in the league will qualify for the round of 16 with the next 16 competing in a play-off round to reach the knockout stages. The remaining sides are eliminated with no teams dropping into other European competitions.

This new format means there will be an 46% Increase in matches to more than 200​,​ providing more games that matter and more opportunity for pubs to bring customers in for nights of the best European football.

Two new matchdays are also being introduced in January ­– boosting trade during a typically quiet time of year.

UEFA Europa League​

Spurs and Manchester United will be the first Premier League teams to compete in the new look Europa League.

Just like the Champions League, there will be more games in the 36 team league format before reaching the knockout phases in the new year.

The winners will seal glory and a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

UEFA Conference League​

Just like the UCL and UEL, the format will be a 36 team league, but in the Conference League sides will play six different teams before the knockout stages get underway.

Game on​

European football is a massive midweek crowd-puller, with 93% of pub-going football fans saying they would go to the pub to watch Champions League football (KAM, April 2024).
