Tiny Rebel brewery to 'increase capacity five-fold'
Champion Beer of Britain-winning Welsh brewery to rapidly expand - including community space, tap room, events space and a bottling and canning line.

The new 30,000 square feet brewery space in Newport has been designed by architects Powell Dobson and managed by WPM Planning and Development.

It will also have a community space and additional storage, and follows the opening of an Urban Tap House pub in the town - as well as another venue in Cardiff under the same branding.

Plans for the five-fold growth are a result of the brewery winning the Champion Beer of Britain 2015 with its Cwtch red ale - and general acclaim of other limited edition beers alongside its core range of brews such as Hadouken IPA.

Capacity

Only beginning operations four years ago, under co-founders Brad Cummings and Gazz Williams, it has been working at full capacity in 2016, resulting in larger scale brewing facilities being required.

In total, the new site allows for the business to expand capacity to 5 million litres annually – or nearly 9 million pints.
Brad Cummings, co-founder, said: “Tiny Rebel Brewery started life in a garage, born out of our passion for flavoursome, drinkable beers. Four years later, the business is making dramatic progress. We’ve established ourselves with award-winning brews like Cwtch and built a growing community of Tiny Rebel fans.

Expansion

“This £2.6m relocation and expansion is a project that we’ve been looking at for the past 24 months and one that all of the Tiny Rebel team have put their heart and soul in to making it happen.

"As we were desperate for additional capacity in both brewing and packaging this will enable us to do even more to support the growing demand for Tiny Rebel beer both at home and abroad.”
Chris Jefford, of Powell Dobson, said: “It is incredibly exciting to be working with such a passionate brewer.

"Tiny Rebel’s commitment to achieving a high quality piece of design and an exciting place for staff to work and for the public to visit is extremely rare.”
