BrewDog has given away the ‘keys to its kingdom’ by posting recipes for all its beers online for free.

The brewer said it wanted to give back to the global home-brewing community because founders James Watt and Martin Dickie both started their beer careers as home brewers in 2005.

According to the duo, many classic BrewDog beers were developed during the company’s early days and a home brewing system is still used at its headquarters to develop new beers and recipes.

“With DIY Dog we wanted to do something that has never been done before as well as paying tribute to our home brewing roots. We wanted to take all of our recipes, every single last one and give them all away for free.

“We have always loved the sharing of knowledge, expertise and passion in the craft beer community and we wanted to take that spirit of collaboration to the next level.”

The brewers couldn’t resist warning any ‘global beer mega corporations’ attempting to read the recipes that ‘your computer will spontaneously combust, James Bond style, any second now.’

DIY Dog includes a basic guide to brewing equipment and brewing as well as detailed recipes.

BrewDog unveiled a string of nine new beer releases earlier this week, including grapefruit infused IPA Elvis Juice and single hopped IPA, Ace of Simcoe.
