The focus of the day is the 'National Cheers to Beer' at 7pm when people around the country will raise a glass and say "cheers to beer".
The hashtag for social media is #CheersToBeer.
Last year, the National Cheers to Beer trended on Twitter and the organisers hope to do the same today.
Overseas beer drinkers
This year, overseas beer drinkers are joining in with people in Australia, Abu Dhabi, France, Gibraltar, Greece, USA participating and the passengers on the ships of a British cruise line.
There is now an anthem to beer called Cheers to Beer to sing during the main 7pm event. The song was co-written by me, as part of Beer Day Britain's Got Talent.
To add to the gaiety of the nation, I'm also searching for a person or group that sings the song with the greatest gusto.
So far, a variety of musical genres are planned including a harp accompaniment and a punk rock version of the anthem.

To enter Beer Day Britain's Got Talent, download the song, vocal score, lyrics, and backing track then post a video on Beer Day Britain social media of the song being performed (and don't forget to use the hashtag #CheersToBeer.
The judges will decide on the most enthusiastic rendition this week.
