The multi-concept operator, which trades from some 25 pubs and restaurants in the UK and Middle East, further reported a loss before tax of £5.1m.
Adjusted Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortisation (EBITDA), prior to management fees and operating lease costs, amounted to a profit of £8.6m.
JKS was founded by siblings Jyotin, Karam, and Sunaina Sethi in 2008. The award-winning operator is a finalist in the 2025 Publican Awards in the Best Premium Food Offer and Best Drinks Offer categories.
Its portfolio includes pubs such as The Cadogan Arms in Chelsea, London, and The Crown, in Chiswick, alongside brands BAO, Hoppers, Gymkhana, and Berenjak.
Doubled sales
In its financial results for the previous year, the group nearly doubled sales to reach £50m, with loss before tax of £5.1m.
Post year end, Gymkhana Fine Foods – JKS’ retail business – raised $3m (£2.4m) in seed funding led by venture capital firm CAVU Consumer Partners in April 2024.
The group also introduced a new Punjabi restaurant concept last year – Ambassador’s Clubhouse – which opened in August in London’s Mayfair.
The 140-cover space – inspired by the Sethi siblings’ grandfather’s summer house in Dalhousie, India – includes three private dining rooms and a heated verandah.
New sites
In July last year, the group opened its third pub venue, The Hound in Chiswick.
Meanwhile in September 2024, JKS opened a new BAO outpost in the City. In addition to the brand’s menu of baos, small plates, and sharing plates, the site also offers Taiwanese karaoke TV and is inspired by the neon-lit Taiwan of the 1980s and 1990s.
Earlier this month, the group announced plans to open another Berenjak on London’s Duke Street.
This will be the Persian concept’s third restaurant in the capital while joining an overseas location in Dubai, a smaller format at the Soho Farmhouse in Chipping Norton, and a residency within Soho House New York.
