JDW slashes prices for January

JD Wetherspoon (JDW) is running continued sales on selected drinks throughout January, with certain items priced at 99p.

Pubgoers have the opportunity to partake in a variety of deals, running from January 2 to January 16.

Pubs partaking in the deal include the Blue Boar located in Billericay where customers can enjoy a pint of Worthington’s beer prices at 99p.

Blue Boar manager Theo Korakianitis is reducing the price of a range of drinks and meals in accordance with the Wetherspoon January sales package.

Speaking more on the sales, he commented: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pub too.

“The range of drinks and food on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. This year we have included our biggest selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks.”

Food deals

According to its website, JDW is also offering a range of food related deals.

The Burger meal deal offers chips and a drink priced at £4.99 with soft drinks at £6.52 inclusive of an alcoholic drink.

Specific meal items also include the 3oz American burger, 3oz classic beef burger and the crunchy chicken strip burger.

Breakfast deals are also listed at £2.99 with breakfast muffins, breakfast wraps and breakfast butty/rolls also available.

Drinks sale

Drinks featured within the sale include Worthington’s beer, Ruddles Best, Greene King IPA priced at £1.29, Belhaven 80 Shilling at £1.49 and Doom Bar priced at £1.49.

Coldwater Creek Wine is also included and priced at £2.49.

Wine options mentioned are Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Rose and Merlot with a range of non alcoholic options also on offer.

Guinness is showcased at 0.0% alongside Stella Artois, Koppaberg Strawberry & Lime and Heineken.

The deal also includes free refills on coffee, tea and hot chocolate priced at £1.29 each, with soft drinks priced at £1.49 each.

Previous drink sales offered by the brand have included Bud Light, Doom Bar and classic cocktails including their Espresso Martini. Beck’s Blue was also featured. Throughout earlier years, the pubco’s Scottish sites have also offered discounts from the 4 to 17 January .

Commenting further on the effect January sales may have on customers, Korakianitis stated: “This year we have included our biggest selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks.

“I believe that the January Sale will prove popular with our customers.

“As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly.”
