Diageo and Bacardi-Martini have been awarded a Royal Warrant by His Majesty The King.
Drinks brands will be raising a glass to the Royal family following the release of the Royal Warrant list on Thursday 19 December.
Diageo was awarded five Royal Warrants for Justerini & Brooks Wine & Spirits Merchants, John Walker & Sons (Johnnie Walker), Royal Lochnagar Scotch Whiskiey, Tanqueray Gordon & Company (Tanqueray and Gordon’s), and The Pimm’s Company.
Long-standing appointments
For Justerini & Brooks, the association dates back to the supply of wines for the Coronation of King George III in 1761, while Johnnie Walker has held a Royal Warrant to the Monarch for the supply of its Scotch whiskies since King George V in 1934.
The appointments also marked the fifth Royal Warrant to be granted to Tanqueray Gordon & Company since 1925.
Bacardi-Martini Limited was also awarded a warrant for its Martini Vermouth along with aperitif brand Dubonnet UK & Europe and Champagne purveyors Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin and Laurent-Perrier.
Camel Valley English Sparkling Wines, Thomas Hine & Co Cognac, Matthew Gloag & Son Ltd Scoth Whisky, and Twining tea and coffee merchants also made the list.
Great privilege
Each brand also held a Royal Warrant to Queen Elizabeth II.
The appointments have been issued since the 15th century and are awarded to companies or individuals providing goods or services to the royal court or certain royal personages.
Diageo global corporate relations director Dan Mobley said: “It is a great privilege to supply our products to the Royal Household, and with the granting of these five new Royal Warrants to His Majesty The King, we will display His Majesty’s Royal Arms on these brands with immense pride.”
