Admiral Taverns operates more than two hundred pubs across England, Scotland and Wales.
Each pub across the estate was tasked with collecting as many Advent calendars as possible throughout November.
Operators then donated the calendars to local causes including primary schools, foodbanks and children’s hospitals.
Community Spirit
Proper Pubs managing director Mark Brooke said: “While Christmas is a wonderful time of year, we understand for many that it can be incredibly challenging.
“This year, in the spirit of Christmas, we wanted to give a little bit back to those that may be struggling so everyone has something to enjoy on the countdown to the big day.
“I’m delighted we ran this initiative as it stands testament to the importance of community pubs and I hope it goes some way in showing our appreciation for the ongoing support we have continued to receive from our loyal customers this year”.
Ongoing Support
Several pubs raised more than 350 Advent calendars, with stand out mentions such as the Ashmore Inn in Wolverhampton, which collected a total of 375 for nearby children’s charities and care homes.
The Brockburn in Glasgow collected 384 calendars and The Florida Park collected 517 for their respective local foodbanks – Pollok Pantry and The Castlemilk Pantry.
Brooke added: “I’m truly blown away by the efforts of our operators and their communities who came together to make this happen and I’d like to take this opportunity to thank them from the bottom of my heart”.
Proper Pubs added it was “committed to supporting individuals, families and children within its communities” all year round and is currently collecting selection boxes for other various local causes.
