Impact IPA: Greene King releases limited-edition beer to mark £20m charity fundraising milestone
Greene King has announced the launch of a limited-edition beer to celebrate hitting its £20m fundraising target for Macmillan Cancer Support.

To celebrate the achievement, Greene King has introduced a limited-edition brew, Impact IPA, which will be available for the next two weeks.

Each pint sold of the 4% golden cask beer, a tropical serve made using Citra and Galaxy hops, will raise a further 20p (plus VAT) to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Hard work

Greene King said the money raised will help the charity provide vital care and support for people living with cancer.

Greene King brewing & brands managing director Matt Starbuck said: “We are excited to have launched Impact IPA as a celebration beer for all of the work put in by teams and customers to raise such important funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.”

The Suffolk-based pub operator and brewer shared it had raised the “milestone” sum earlier this week.

Funds were raised by team members at 2,600 venues around the UK through a host of extreme personal challenges including scaling mountains, hiking and running marathons.

Record result

Pub teams also hosted local fundraising events, such as pub quizzes and Macmillan Coffee Mornings throughout the year too.

Smaller donations from Greene King’s 1,600 managed pubs, from the £1 dropped into the collection tin on the bar to the 25p donations added via online collection tin Pennies, have also added to the "record result".

Greene King has been partnered with Macmillan Cancer Support since 2012 and is the charity’s top employee fundraising corporate partner.

Starbuck added: “We are not stopping at this milestone, however, and we welcome people to visit a Greene King pub over the next few weeks and enjoy a pint of Impact IPA to support the charity and all that it does.”
