The beer, Mythic Harmony 4.5% ABV, has been brewed as part of Fuller, Smith & Turner’s (Fuller’s) Only in the Pub cask campaign and will be on sale in 45 of its pubs.
The limited-edition beer has been brewed by Charlie Long of Fuller’s Griffin Brewery, which is part of Asahi, and Sean Knight of Siren. The beer has been named to celebrate the coming together of the two “iconic and mythical” logos of both brewers – the Griffin and the Siren.
The beer is said to be a “golden, zesty and refreshing” California pale ale. It features Harlequin, Calista, Simcoe, Idaho 7 and Citra Cryo hops, underpinned by extra pale malt.
Appeal to cask drinkers
The description continued: “The beer is the colour of straw, has an aroma of tropical fruits and has a citrus and berry taste.
“It will appeal to a wide range of traditional cask ale drinkers and craft beer enthusiasts. There is a perfect balance between the beer’s light clear body and the bitter boldness that comes from the hop flavours.”
The pubs that will serve Mythic Harmony have been chosen due to their “commitment to serving great cask ale and a history of supporting both Fuller’s and guest cask ales”.
Fuller’s marketing director Sam Bourke said: “Even as a pure pubs and hotels business, beer is still at our heart, and this is a fantastic collaboration between two of our favourite suppliers.
Interesting beers
“As part of our cask campaign, Only in the Pub, we are bringing some amazing and interesting beers to our bars – and this is no exception.
“Mythic Harmony is delicious, zesty, and only available for a very short time. When it’s gone, it’s gone, so I suggest you get to the pub quick to enjoy a pint of this truly delicious cask ale that’s been created by two of the country’s best brewers.”
To be one of the first to try the new brew, there will be a Mythic Harmony launch event at the Forester in Ealing, west London, on Thursday (17 October) from 5pm.
