Wide variety: the Kings Arms in Bexleyheath has a huge range of drinks available

A huge cocktail range alongside a strong wine offer and a variety of beers and ciders are all part of the drinks available at the Kings Arms in Bexleyheath, south-east London.

The pub, which took home the title of Best Pub for Entertainment last year and was a finalist this year in the Great British Pub Awards, has something for everyone on its bar.

The Morning Advertiser spoke with the pub’s bar manager Tom Bradbury who outlined what’s on offer.

He said: “We’ve got such a big variety of products on our bar, anything [from] flavoured gins, normal gins, Scotch, bourbons, Irish whiskey, different vodkas.

“The variety is what you need for a good bar and a good back bar.”

“We get a couple of people asking for specific spirits, we’ve had a couple ask for certain gins, which we get in because we want to please them.”

Gin offer

In fact, the pub has a huge number of gins available with Bradbury estimated customers can choose from more than 20 variants, with the majority of these being flavoured.

Cocktails was an area the pub shines and Bradbury highlighted the innovation in this sphere.

Seasonally, the team come up with cocktails before selecting which ones will be going on the menu alongside offering a twist on classic serves.

“At the moment we’ve got six shaken over ice cocktails and we also have four frozen cocktails [including] a Strawberry Daiquiri, you have to do a Strawberry Daiquiri if you’re doing a frozen cocktail, it [sells] like hotcakes.

“We do a Bubble-gum Daiquiri…. we also have got the Mango Mystery, which is obviously a mango-based frozen cocktail and has a layering effect with grenadine at the bottom. It makes it look pretty and that’s the mystery.

“The new one we had on this season was the Rocket Lolly, which as it sounds, it tastes like a Rocket Lolly.”

Beer options

Furthermore, the pub is tied to Star Pubs & Bars and so offers a range of Heineken products in terms of its beer and cider range.

Bradbury said: “We have Inch’s, Moretti, Cruzcampo seems to be everywhere now so we’ve got that, Beavertown Neck Oil, Brixton Reliance Pale Ale and obviously, we’ve got to have Guinness.”

That’s a flavour of what the Kings Arms has on its bar but to find out more, listen to the full story above.
