With just under six weeks to go, we can now reveal the vibrant venues we’ll be visiting as part of the MA Leaders Oxford study tour.

On Wednesday 2 October, we'll be hitting the streets of Oxford to find out what the city has to offer as well as hosting the conference where we'll be hearing from a line-up of top operators and experts.

Are you in the club?

The MA Leaders Club is open to multi-site pub operators and meets three times a year around the country for a day of business-focused presentations from top experts and owner/operators. The day is followed by an evening study tour of new and exciting venues.

If you’re interested in joining and attending this stellar event, sign up here.

The venues we'll be visiting are:

Cosy Club

Located in the heart of the city on Cornmarket Street, Cosy Club Oxford offers all-day dining alongside a varied cocktail menu.

The Loungers-owned venue, which opened its doors in October 2023, is adorned with 100 bespoke statement light fittings.

We’ll be hosting our conference at the site where we’ll also hear from Loungers chief executive about the company’s plans going forward and what’s driving its success following its report of record revenue.

The Store

As part of the study tour, we’ll be visiting the Store. This former department store in the heart of the city has a lot of history behind it after first trading in 1738 when it was a treasure trove of toys, cosmetics, fashion, household essentials, a haberdashery alongside a tearoom and café.

Nowadays, the Store has been reimagined as a luxury hotel with a restaurant, bars and spa with a labyrinth of spaces to be discovered.

We’ll be seeing the city from up high on the Store’s rooftop terrace, which is open all year round.

The Grapes

An independent beer house in the heart of Oxford, the Grapes is home to 40 keg lines, eight hand pumps as well as extensive wine and spirits lists.

The pub, which dates back to the 1800s, offers guests retro board games to play and vinyl records to enjoy.

The Slow & Steady

The latest site in Dodo Pubs’ collection, the Slow & Steady aims to be a neighbourhood pub and is set to open its doors next month (September).

The venue will be joining Dodo’s estate including the Up in Arms, the Rusty Bicycle and the Rickety Press, which are all in Oxford as well as the All Inn, Bristol; the Part & Parcel, Witney; the Last Crumb, Caversham and the Bottle of Sauce, Cheltenham.

Oxford is the company’s hometown, having started in the historic city in 2009. Its latest addition, the Slow & Steady has been named as a homage to the building’s architect Henry Hare and is on Abingdon Road.

Sixes

Situated on the top floor of Westgate Shopping Centre, Sixes Oxford is inspired by the modern energy of cricket.

Its colour, print and dynamic lighting aim to make it an all-day party destination with three indoors nets and three rooftop nets with their own private party cabins.

We’ll also be hearing from the company’s head of marketing Michael Hay during the conference on competitive socialising and the importance of experiential venues to younger demographics.
