Licensee stars in Sky Sports campaign
The campaign champions fans of all 92 Premier league and EFL clubs, speaking on their hopes in anticipation for the new season. Lorriman has been running the Royal Dyche since 2013 and has since won the highly esteemed BII Licensee Of The Year award. The Royal Dyche is a wet-led free house, infamous for showcasing various sporting events including football.
As a lifelong Burnley FC supporter, Lorriman renamed ‘the Royal Dyche’ originally titled ‘The Princess Royal’ after former Burnley boss, Steve Dyche. She shared her thoughts on what it was like to be a part of the new campaign: “It’s exciting to be selected as the fan that represents Burnley. I have a strong connection to the football, specifically through my business, so it was a great opportunity that I couldn’t turn down.”
Award-winning operator
Lorriman also previously won the 2023 Great British Pub Award for Best Pub to Watch Sport. Her message is focused around inspiring football fans and championing emotions experienced by supporters as the new season approaches.
She offered her take on Burnley’s chances of heading into the new season: “My expectation is for promotion back to the Premier League and achieving better than what we did the last time we were in the Championship, which was hitting over 100 points.”
Fans have all shared original stories around their clubs, celebrating and showcasing their pride in different methods. Newcastle United’s deaf community also featured alongside the Burnley licensee, among various other notable figures within the world of sport and entertainment.
Noteworthy stars
Danny Dyer also features throughout the campaign, with a specific message recorded to West Ham.
Other noteworthy stars set to share their hopes for the new domestic season include darts star Nathan Aspinall, comedian Josh Widdicombe and boxer Joshua Buatsi. Collectively sharing encouragement for Plymouth Argyle, Stockport County and Crystal Palace.
Sky Sports football analyst, Jamie Carragher said: “The football pyramid is what makes the game so well loved and competitive in this country. I used to experience that love and tribalism up and down the country firsthand!
He continued: “At the heart of it, I’m a fan myself, so to see supporters come together with all their talents is fantastic. It really does show you what football means to so many, and I can’t wait for it to all kick off now.”
