Stonegate ploughs more than £2.6m into 4 site transformations
The venue joins Deansgate, Birmingham and Solihull to receive the cash injection and reopened last week (Friday 12 July) following a £646,000 refurbishment.
In September last year, Stonegate opened the Deansgate site, its flagship Slug & Lettuce, following a £680,000 investment.
This was the first of the brand’s new look roll out with Slug & Lettuce operations director Kate Wilton having told The Morning Advertiser the property was the “obvious selection to be the first on a personal level and because it’s such an iconic site on an iconic circuit”.
Transformational makeover
The plans for the ‘transformational’ makeover began back in 2022 when guest research was commissioned and culminated in the new look.
The Birmingham venue was the second to receive a transformation and reopened in March this year after a £650,000 investment.
Following this, the Solihull venue underwent a refurbishment at the end of May, reopening its doors with a revitalised garden and terrace area.
Albert Square’s Slug & Lettuce’s new look features the brand’s flamingo pink and jungle green colour scheme as well as new seating booths alongside terrazzo and marble table tops.
Must-visit destination
A newly installed photobooth has also been installed to add a fun element in a bid to allow guests to capture memorable moments.
The renovation had breathed a new lease of life and vibrancy into the site, according to newly appointed general manager Simon Pugsley.
He added: “Manchester is now home to two ‘new era’ Slug & Lettuce sites and I am eager to make Albert Square a must-visit destination in the city alongside the already popular Deansgate venue.
“The transformation of both sites is incredible and the Albert Square team and I look forward to welcoming back our valued guests in the coming weeks.”
