Multi-site operator Arc Inspirations is set to open new venues in Nottingham and Sheffield this year.

This autumn will see the firm’s Box and Manahatta brands expand with the former opening in Nottingham and the latter in Sheffield.

Box Sheffield aims to bring a game-changing, high-quality sports bar and kitchen to the city. The brand already has sites in locations such as Leeds city centre, Deansgate in Manchester and Brindleyplace in Birmingham.

Also opening in the autumn will be Manahatta Edinburgh. The Scottish city and Nottingham locations will launch with a new interior look and feel, which will be an evolution but remaining true to its original concept, inspired by New York.

Growth plans

The new venues will showcase an art-deco style back bar, inspired by the New York speakeasy but made modern with LED moving artwork.

The mirror ball will also evolve into a giant NY-inspired ball drop, aiming to bring light and movement into the site.

Arc already had a Manahatta venue in Sheffield, which was shortlisted at this year’s Publican Awards in the Best New Site category.

In March, the business revealed it secured £7m to help accelerate its expansion plans, including delivering at least four new openings a year over the next five years.

Significant evolution

While the multiple operator is eyeing further launches in cities such as Cardiff, Liverpool and London soon, it will also look to dispose of older, legacy sites that do not fit the company’s future strategy.

On the latest openings, Arc Inspirations co-founder and CEO Martin Wolstencroft said: “We’re thrilled to be doubling our presence in the centre of Nottingham and Sheffield – two cities where we’ve seen great success in the past year and we can’t wait to unveil our new-look Manahatta design.

“The new sites in Nottingham and Edinburgh mark a significant evolution for the brand and the new design will be rolled out across existing Manahattas over the coming months.”
