Wellbeing is being put to the top of the menu for The Burnt Chef Project’s new initiative – The Burnt Brunch.

The event is aimed at pioneers, thought leaders and disruptors, and is designed to address the challenges hospitality teams face and bring new ideas to the table.

The Burnt Brunch is a six-part series of networking lunches taking place at some of the UK’s most desirable hospitality sites throughout 2024.

They are complemented by a panel-style discussion, insightful Q&A debate and conversations around positive leadership with The Burnt Chef – which is available for pub and bar staff too – stating “the events are a place for industry experts and business leaders to come together to learn, network and engage with others”.

Topics for The Burnt Brunch events

Each event will focus on a key and relevant wellbeing topic, including resilience, nurturing the next generation, success, imposter syndrome, recruitment & retention and work-life balance, which will feature leading chefs and influential personalities from the region.

The first event takes place on Tuesday 25 June at The Pem in London, hosted by The Burnt Chef Project and top sector chefs Sally Abe and Romy Gill.

The second event is on Monday 22 July at Simpsons Restaurant in Birmingham and will see Luke Tipping and Louisa Ellis join The Burnt Chef Project.

Kris Hall, Founder and CEO of The Burnt Chef Project said: “We’re delighted to launch a series of collaborative networking events across the UK throughout 2024.

Hub of idea generation

“Combining stand-out restaurants, incredible chefs, inspirational guests and the opportunity to discuss some of the most pressing wellbeing topics currently impacting the industry, The Burnt Brunches will be a hub of idea generation and learning for those attending.

“Each event has a capacity of 40, meaning almost 250 of the industry’s biggest decision-makers, thought leaders and pioneers will come together over the course of the next six months, sharing insight, opening conversation, making new connections and discussing expertise for the good of the sector – while enjoying a delicious brunch, of course.”

Further events will take place on Tuesday 6 August at The Hovels in Leeds and on Tuesday 17 September at Smoke, Hampton Manor, in Birmingham.
