Fuller's and Greene King most admired pubcos
Coming in joint third place overall in the restaurant and pubs segment in the Britain’s Most Admired Companies survey, both firms were the top ranking pubco in 2023.
Mitchells & Butlers were the next highest ranking operator on the list, followed by Marston's, Young’s and JDW with Stonegate the lowest ranking pubco.

However, Suffolk-based operator and brewer Greene King came out on top looking at each individual criteria, including for quality of management and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
In addition, Greene King was also cited as the most financially sound of all the pubcos included in this year’s survey, followed by Fuller’s and JDW.
Elsewhere, Young’s scored highest in the quality of products and services section while Stonegate was ranked lowest in this category.
Annual survey
Britain’s Most Admired Companies is the longest-running annual survey of corporate reputation in the UK, with data going back over 30 years.
The study is run by Echo Research with support from academic partners at Coventry University and in conjunction with the London Stock Exchange.
To compile data, Britain's largest public companies across 28 sectors are asked to evaluate their peers across 13 key criteria.
Greene King also came out on top in last year's survey, followed by Fuller’s and Young’s.
