- Measure your energy usage to understand what you’re using and when.
- Leaving kitchen extractors on can cost £300 a week, turn them off.
- Prepare for the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards
- Review operations with team members to help everyone look at changes
- Use edible and shelf-stable garnishes on cocktails

“For the hospitality industry, never has it been more important to reduce energy usage and ultimately, lower costs.”
The Morning Advertiser editor Ed Bedington emphasised the importance of being environmentally friendly seriously.
He said: “Sustainability is a term regularly bandied about but the reality is, improving the sustainable credentials of your business have never been more important.
“Both from an environmental and efficiency basis, implementing measures to improve your sustainability can pay off in a number of ways, from cutting costs and waste to attracting young talent into your business.
