Schofield’s Bar unveiled as UK’s top cocktail bar
The bar, which is run by brothers Daniel and Joe Schofield, was announced at a glittering ceremony last night (Tuesday 6 February).
It opened in 2021 and was placed on the list immediately before it jumped 12 places to the top five in 2022 and has climbed the ranks to the top for this year.
Sitting on the corner of the iconic Sunlight House in the city, Schofield’s Bar is an go-to for industry alum and seasoned drinks aficionados.
Satan’s Whiskers in Bethnal Green, east London came in at number two while Birmingham’s Passing Fancies was in third place.
The cocktail bar named One to Watch was Project Halcyon, Manchester, which came in at number 21.
Award winners
This year’s highest climber was London’s Amaro bar in Kensington – jumping 38 places to number eight.
Group director at William Reed, publisher of Top 50 Cocktail Bars, Chris Lowe said: “It’s so exciting to see so many new names on the list, which highlights the breadth of talent there is across the UK.
“London will always have a decent portion of the list but it is amazing to see so many other cities show up, like Glasgow and Birmingham.
“The list continues to grow and help people discover hidden gems and the UK’s best bartending talent.”
Amazon Prime’s The Three Drinkers TV series Aidy Smith hosted the Top 50 Cocktail Bars event.
