Sector celebration: the 2023 Great British Pub Awards will be taking place in September

The shortlist for the 2023 Great British Pub Awards has been announced with pubs from across the nation making the final stage.

Hundreds of pubs entered the prestigious competition, which has been running for more than two decades, before expert judges whittled it down across two rounds of judging before the on-the-road visits take place across the summer.

This year’s ceremony will be returning to Manchester and taking place on Tuesday 19 September at the city’s Victoria Warehouse.

The Morning Advertiser, which organises the awards, editor Ed Bedington said: “The great British pub is an institution to be proud of and we are proud to be able to honour and recognise some of the best businesses in the country.

“Our finalists have now been selected from hundreds of amazing entries from all over the UK.

“I am excited to visit the sites alongside my fellow judges and we look forward to revealing the winners in the autumn.”

The awards are kindly sponsored by: Booker/Makro, Coca Cola Europacific Partners, Everard Cole, Diageo, Heineken, Molson Coors and PepsiCo alongside pubco partners Admiral Taverns, Greene King, Marston's, Stonegate and Punch Pubs.
