Roxy Leisure has opened the doors at its Leicester’s city centre site that features a host of competitive socialising activities.

Roxy Ball Room Humberstone Gate has attractions such as ten-pin bowling, ice-free curling, shuffleboard and three karaoke rooms.

The site continues to follow the brand’s signature ‘Booze & Ball Games’ mantra, with other activities including batting cages for baseball and cricket, shuffleboard, American pool, deck shuffle, ping pong, crazy pool and beer pong.

The brand’s new food menu is being served at the site, which features Italian focaccia pizzas and Roxy Dogs made with bratwurst sausages and brioche buns, accompanied by a selection of American-style sharers such as Loaded Roxy Fries, Chilli Cheese Bites and Kickin’ Popcorn Chicken.

Cocktail menu

The venue’s cocktail menu allows customers to enjoy ‘Roxy Signature’ drinks such as Rock ’N’ Roll Star, ‘Roxy Classics’ like Pingstar Martini, ‘Roxy Serves’ such as Blood Orange G&T, and ‘Roxy Low & Nos’ like Virgin Lychee & Raspberry Smash. The drinks offering also includes plenty of spirits, wines, draught beers and more.

Earlier this month (June), Roxy Leisure announced it would open a Roxy Lanes site in Cheltenham in August.

At the time, Roxy Leisure commercial manager Joel Mitchell said: “Following on from the successful launch of Roxy Lanes Bristol and Cardiff, we’re excited to be heading back down south to open our next Roxy Lanes site, Roxy Lanes Cheltenham.

“The venue will have something for all ages from ten-pin bowling to shuffleboard, karaoke to air hockey and over 50 arcade games for guests to enjoy.”

Time to put your phone down

Meanwhile, Roxy Leisure managing director Ben Warren recently told The Morning Advertiser: “Competitive socialising provides guests with a window of time to put their phone down and be fully present in the moment while interacting with others.”

He added: “Since the pandemic, the way people are socialising has changed and people’s expectations are now much higher.

“There’s a new generation of people who are drinking less and being much more mindful of experiences they enjoy, and competitive socialising has been a key driver in enabling the hospitality industry to cater for this change in lifestyle and consumer habits.”
