The pub has undergone a complete transformation that includes a new bar, furnishings and fixtures. Outside, the garden has had a complete makeover with new flooring, furniture and additional huts to ensure use all year round.
For opening night (Thursday 27 April), customers enjoyed live music from singer, Chris Brooks, while the weekend ahead includes a live DJ performance and karaoke on Saturday.
Opening night was fantastic
Operator of the Strawberry Gardens, Joanne Wilson, said: “Opening night was fantastic, it was amazing to see all our customers, old and new, coming to see what the pub has to offer.
“The feedback we received from our community was amazing and we can’t wait to see them again soon.”
The Strawberry Gardens provides a wide range of drinks offers, including cocktails, wine and fizz promotions. The pub will also be hosting an annual schedule of events with offers all year round for the local community to enjoy, as well as charity events.
Operators, Kristian and Joanne’s first aim is to raise money to have a lifesaving defibrillator installed at the Strawberry Gardens and they are also planning to host a Droylsden Christmas Market.
Team has worked hard
Proper Pubs operations director Matthew Gurney said: “The refurbishment at the Strawberry Gardens looks fantastic – the team have worked really hard to ensure it is a success for the local community.
“On behalf of the Proper Pubs team, we would like to wish our community heroes, Kristian and Joanne, every success for the future in making the Strawberry Gardens a fantastic hub of the community”.
Earlier this month, Proper Pubs director Mark Brooke told The Morning Advertiser pubs are the last true hub for communities and they must be allowed to function with Government hindrance.
