Dan Robinson will officially start the new role from today (Monday 3 April), holding overall responsibility for the Pub Partners business unit within Greene King.
He will replace Wayne Shurvinton who is now partnerships and ventures managing director after a divisional structure realignment.
Robinson has been at Greene King since 2016 and was previously asset optimisation director for the past two years.
Previous experience
This followed roles as interim managing director of Greene King Local Pubs and central operations director for the company’s managed pub.
Pre-2016, Robinson held operational roles at Spirit Pub Company, Punch and Scottish & Newcastle after his career began at Allied Domecq as a graduate trainee meaning he has more than a quarter of a century’s worth of experience in the pub sector.
On his new appointment Robinson said: “It is a real privilege to be appointed managing director of Greene King Pub Partners.
“Having worked in operational and leadership roles across the Greene King business over the past seven years, I have long been an admirer of the team and the brilliant partners we work with.
“I cannot wait to get started and help our partners continue to grow their pub businesses with the support of our great team.”
Taking the business forward
Greene King partnerships and ventures managing director Wayne Shurvinton was appointed managing director of Pub Partners in September 2018.
He said: “I am delighted with the appointment of Dan as managing director of Pub Partners. With his years of experience in the pub trade, he understands Pub Partners well and I am excited to see him take the business forward building on the great work the team has already delivered.”
Greene King recently struck gold at the 2023 Publican Awards, taking home the titles of Best Tenanted/Leased Pub Company (501+ sites) and Best Pub Employer (501+ employees).
