Mojo to open Newcastle site on Good Friday
The bank holiday launch will take place at The Gate on Newgate Street and vows to offer an “electric going-out experience” combining cocktails with American-style food and music from the past five decades.
The opening will see a selection of free drinks, including signature cocktails, served to all guests until midnight. Customers who want to attend need to download a Mojo Pass via the business’s Newcastle website.
Huge bar
The business has previously hosted parties for the Foo Fighters, Elbow and cast of Captain America.
The bar stretches across the length of the ground floor and will serve an extensive cocktail list of more than 120 different serves, from classics to new Mojo creations. The site is also home to shuffleboard tables, beer pong and cocktail masterclasses.
The food menu spans small bites such as chicken wings and fully loaded fries to larger dishes like Mojo’s Dirty Smash Burgers, hand-stretched pizzas and desserts such as waffles and pancakes. Vegan options are available too and a bottomless brunch will be served throughout the week.
Premier League appeal
The bar is close to the city’s football Premier League ground – St James’ Park – and it offers a £12 meal deal on matchdays.
Mojo managing director Martin Greenhow said: “Newcastle is a fun, exciting and vibrant city, and we cannot wait to open our doors here with one of the biggest launch parties we’ve thrown to date.
“Our ethos is around bringing music for the people, food for the soul and good times forever, and we hope to deliver that to the people of Newcastle from 7 April. You’re in for a rock ’n’ roll treat.”
Mojo already operates six sites across England. They are located in Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool, Harrogate, Sheffield and Nottingham.
