The arcade bar concept, which has nine sites, will bring retro gaming, cocktails and a hip-hop soundtrack to east London, plus a new food offer with a partner set to be named shortly.
The Old Street site will have a capacity of up to 450 people at the 9,000sq ft location.
Founded in 2019 in Manchester by Andy Haygarth and Matt Robson, NQ64 said it is “neon graffiti-covered drinking den where guests can enjoy retro arcade games and classic consoles alongside a curated list of game-themed cocktails and craft beers, accompanied by a classic hip hop playlist”.
Nostalgic arcades
The brand has expanded across the UK with two sites in Manchester and others in Liverpool, Birmingham, Cardiff, Soho, Edinburgh, Glasgow and its most recent opening in Newcastle.
NQ64 sites are filled with nostalgic and classic arcades and consoles sourced from across the globe, including gaming favourites such as Pac-Man, Mario Kart, Guitar Hero, Time Crisis and Point Blank, with SNES, MegaDrive, Gamecube, Xbox and PlayStation on the console line-up.
NQ64 Shoreditch is set to house some new and rare games that all operate on tokens available for purchase from the bar while all consoles within the venue are free to play.
Food offer a first for group
The site will also include bookable spaces, DJs seven nights a week and the food offering will be a first for NQ64. The site will also offer a drinks list of selected craft beers, themed cocktails, wines, spirits and sodas.
NQ64 co-founder Matt Robson said: “Shoreditch is a location we’ve really wanted to operate in for a long time, so we’re buzzing to open this site.
“We aim to make our venues a place for gaming fanatics and also for those looking for a great experience on a night out. This is our biggest site yet and we hope it’ll be a great addition to the area.”
