The Bedfordshire-based business began its corporate charity partnership with Teenage Cancer Trust in March 2022 and the pub teams felt they really wanted to give something back to nurses this Christmas.
Each meal will be completely free and features a range of seasonal dishes or choices from their festive menu. The offer includes a main course with the choice of a starter or a dessert, plus a complimentary alcoholic or soft drink at any of Wells’ 30 managed houses.
Christmas treat
Teenage Cancer Trust senior relationship manager Hailey Amani said: “Thank you so much to our lovely friends at Wells & Co for the kind offer of allowing our wonderful nurses and staff at our Teenage Cancer Trust unit at Addenbrookes to have a special Christmas treat to let them know how much we appreciate everything they do. We are so grateful to all of the pubs for making this happen.”
Peter Wells, CEO and fifth-generation family member of Wells & Co, added: “We’re delighted to be able to support this cause. We know just how tirelessly and selflessly nurses work and it’s the least we could offer as a thank you.”
£10k raised so far
The Teenage Cancer Trust and Wells & Co partnership has raised more than £10,000 for the charity so far with more to come. The family brewery has plans to continue its fundraising efforts in its pubs, adding to its already pre-existing complementary £1 donation from each festive menu going straight towards the charity.
Wells & Co’s brewery and pub estate has a heritage dating back to 1876. Its state-of-the-art Brewpoint brewery in Bedford produces award-winning beers and cask ales, brewed for its pub estate and beyond. It also operates 17 managed houses in France.
