Carling remained the most sold lager in the on-trade with an uplift in value of 89.1% from £662.2 to £1,252 and an 87.9% rise in sales per hectolitre (hl) from 1,129.143 to 2,121,157 this year.
Fosters came in at second place with a 65.8% rise in volume and a 68.6% increase in value from £426.5 to £7128.9 while Birra Moretti kept third place with its sales per hl having increased from 458,258 to 1,067,036 and a 140.6% uplift in value.
Moving spaces
Peroni Nastro Assurro kept its pace on the list as the fourth best-selling lager of the year following a 124% rise in value and a 117.9% increase in volume.
Moving up one space this year to fifth place, Coors saw sales per hl increase 361,023 to 787,938 and 125.7% uplift in value over the past twelve months.
The only serve to move down a place on this year’s list, Stella Artois came in at number 6 this year with an 81.9% rise in sales per hl and £224.3m elevation in value.
Coming in at number 7, Carlsberg Danish Pilsner saw an 86.7% rise in value from £205.1m to £382.9m and an 81.9% increase in volume from 358,053 to 651,276.
Unchanged
San Miguel, Amstel and Tennent’s Lager all remain unchanged on the Drinks List 2023, taking the eighth, ninth and tenth spots respectively.
San Miguel, saw its value rise from £222.5m to £492m over the past 12 months with a 114% increase in sales per hl while Amstel, saw uplifts to value and volume of 85.4% and 88.8% respectively.
Lastly, Tennents Lager took tenth place following a 116.2% rise in sales from 211,525 to 457,283 and a 125.8% increase in value from £125m to £282.2m.
