Big Dog: $1m bar tab on offer at new BrewDog in Vegas

BrewDog will open its biggest bar to date in Las Vegas next month, and one customer is in with a chance to win a $1m (approximately £834,110) bar tab.

The 96-tap carbon-negative site will open on Friday 2 December on the Las Vegas Strip. The $1m prize, up for grabs for attendees at the launch, is redeemable in any BrewDog bar around the world for the next twenty years.

The two floors of the Nevada-based craft beer site overlook the MGM New York-New York hotel, and the rooftop bar sports a 30-foot-high neon BrewDog logo.

Lobster mac ‘n’ cheese, tacos and oak-fired chicken are just some of the dishes that will be served at the bar. Scottish food including haggis and the Flying Scotsman beef patty will also be on offer.

Onsite, there’s a 10-barrel brewhouse ready to create small-batch brews. There’s also an array of cocktails available like the Scottish riff on a classic, the Irn Bru Margarita.

A city like no other

After the Friday launch, the opening weekend will continue with a rooftop gig headlined by rock band We Are Scientists.

BrewDog chief executive James Watt said: “Las Vegas is a city like no other, so we had to pull out all the stops. With nearly 100 taps of craft beer and killer views, this oasis in the desert is the biggest BrewDog Bar we have ever opened. It must be seen to be believed.

“And we are giving one lucky BrewDog lover the chance to work their way around the globe enjoying all that we have to offer from our bars to our hotels. The $1 million bar tab will offer a lifetime of incredible beer and food, ready and waiting to be won on 2 December.”

Freebie giveaways

This isn’t the first time the Aberdeenshire-based brewer has dished out free beer. In July, one guest at the launch for BrewDog’s Bristol site was randomly selected to win a year’s supply of free beer.

What’s more, last month the chief executive handed out free pints to the public for three days to spread “positivity and good vibes”.

Watt took to Twitter and Linkedin to make the announcement. “Have a beer on me,” he said.
