Despite the liqueurs & specialities category only being recognised in the Drinks List last year, Jagermeister has never been beaten by any other brand.

The German tipple has more than double the number of sales of its nearest rival in both volume and value terms.

It sold 282,356 nine-litre cases (9lc) this year, which was a rise of 95.4% from last year’s total of 144,532 9lcs. In cash terms, the value of this year’s sales reached £309.2m – up 98.3% from £155.9m on the Drinks List 2022.

There was movement within the category league table as Baileys rose a place to second with a 142.2% boost to volume sales to take it to 138,662 9lcs and £104.1m in value coupled with a £147.9% increase versus last year.

Amaretto rises two places

Amaretto Disaronno leapt two spots to third overall with a 139.7% boost in volume sales to reach 104,711 9lcs and a 142.6% uplift in value from £47.9m to £116.3m while Italian favourite Aperol fell two spots to fourth and Malibu slid one place to fifth while recording volume sales of 103,999 9lcs and 93,996 9lcs each.

Sourz Apple and Sourz Cherry took positions six and nine respectively while charting volume boosts of 93% and 102.7% and value uplifts of 94.9% and 106.2%.

Antica Sambuca Classic and Archers Peach (a new entry) were wedged between the Sourz variants with the prior achieving a volume lift to 78,257 9lcs from 38,727 9lcs last year and Archers increasing its value share from £28.2m to £62.1m this year.

Pimm’s No1 rounded off the top 10 with good improvements on its volume and value sales, up 24.7% and 26.8% respectively but way behind the increases seen by all other brands in the top 10.
