The Coach & Horses in Maghull, near Liverpool, which was previously a Greene King managed pub, will be operated by franchisee Gaynor Sartorius and manager Matty Bris.
Sartorius said: “I am delighted to have taken on the Coach & Horses as a franchisee.
“The proven Hive Pubs concept, guaranteed franchise fee and strong earning potential made taking on a pub franchise agreement with Greene King Pub Partners an easy decision for me.”
Community at its heart
Aimed at those with experience of running a pub, the Hive Pubs franchise agreement, which won the Best New Concept at the Foodservice Equipment Journal 2022 awards, gives licensees a ready to trade pub within a proven branded concept for just £5,000 ingoing cost.
Hive Pub franchisees are, according to Greene King, guaranteed an income of £20,000 plus additional revenue based on performance, such as share of turnover.
Following a complete renovation inside and out by designers DV8, the pub has been given a modern look and feel in line with the Hive Pubs brand and concept with community at its heart.
A key part of the pub’s transformation has been its garden, which now features beach huts and covered outdoor seating with wooden furniture, enabling use of the garden all year round.
Important milestone
The Coach & Horses menu will offer pub classics curated by the food team at Greene King as well as a range of drinks from standard and premium lagers to ciders, stouts, and ales, plus an extended variety of spirits, wines, soft drinks, and alcohol-free options.
In addition to having a pool table and dartboard, sport will play a key part in the offering at the Coach & Horses with all major sporting events shown via the pub’s Sky Sports and BT Sport subscriptions.
Greene King Pub Partners managing director Wayne Shurvinton said: “With our £450,000 transformative investment, the Coach & Horses is now officially our 20th Hive Pub opening.
“We are delighted to have hit this important milestone and will continue with even more Hive Pub openings between now and the end of the year.”
