North Taproom: Snow Hill will be the business’s first venue outside its home county of Yorkshire. North said it was attracted to the area by the “entrepreneurial spirit of the city and its vibrant independent brewing and events scene”.
Renowned for its alternative approach, quirky style and friendly service, North Taproom: Snow Hill is claimed to offer a warm and welcoming space showcasing North’s extensive core range, alongside an ever-changing line-up of beers, wines, cocktails, ciders and spirits from an eclectic range of local and international producers.
Fellow Leeds-based brand, Little Bao Boy, will be making the move with North, serving a menu of contemporary Asian street food.
Modern glass building
Located minutes from Snow Hill station in the heart of the city, North’s newest taproom will be housed in a modern glass building, creating a light and airy space for city dwellers to enjoy seven days a week.
The 2,500sq ft taproom will seat 100 covers inside, with space for an additional 30 standing guests and an extensive covered outdoor seating area that will seat a further 50.
In keeping with North’s ethos, interiors will feature plywood, plants and clean lines to create an open taproom with a Scandinavian feel. A large bar with 24 draught lines, including 18 lines for kegged beer, will be surrounded by a mix of high and low seating, alongside fridges of cans to drink in or take away.
Limited-edition collab beer
There is also the option of house-made Negroni, a rotating selection of cocktail lines, as well as wine and fizz plus a variety of no and low-alcohol options is always be available.
Meanwhile, North, which won Best Brewing Pub Company at this this year’s Publican Awards, is working with Digbeth-based brewer Dig Brew Co to create a limited-edition collab to feature on the taps for the Birmingham site’s launch.
John Gyngell, co-founder and director said: “We cannot wait to open in Birmingham. We’ve been looking for a site in the city for a few years, and the location at Snow Hill is perfect for North. We’re dead excited to be joining so many ace independent businesses in the city and to work with some of the great breweries in Birmingham. We’ve been blown away by the welcome shown to us so far and cannot wait to get the doors open.”
