Black Diamond’s latest addition has received a full refurbishment ahead of opening as part of a joint investment from the large pubco and multi-site business, totalling in excess of £300,000.

This includes a redesigned bar, new furniture, signage, outside decorations and sail coverings over its back garden.

Local suppliers

The kitchen has also had a makeover and food will be locally sourced from the county including a family-run butcher less than 10 miles away.

This is alongside quality suppliers from further afield, while the wine list has been produced in partnership with a Bedfordshire-based merchant.

Black Diamond’s trio of sites with Greene King Pub Partners have a large focus on the local communities they serve as the village pub and social hub.

In recognition of this, the Bedfordshire-based firm has been shortlisted for the Best New Business Company at the Luton and Bedfordshire SME Business Awards 2022 with the winner set to be revealed next month (September).

Strong relationship

Black Diamond Pub Company founder Matt Henman said: “As a growing pub business, I am delighted to have opened our next pub in partnership with Greene King – the Three Tuns in Biddenham.

“We have built a strong relationship with Greene King Pub Partners through difficult trading times and when the opportunity to take on the Three Tuns came up, we jumped at it.

“The pub has everything we look for – a local village setting with the space and features needed to implement our high-end, food-led offer.”

Greene King Pub Partners managing director Wayne Shurvinton said the company was all about supporting its partners to grow and develop their businesses and this partnership was an example of that.

He added: “I look forward to seeing the Three Tuns go from strength to strength as The Black Diamond Pub Company’s third site with us.”
