The first 100 guests to visit BrewDog’s new Bristol-based site today (Friday 22 July) will be in with a chance to win a year’s supply of free beer.

The venue, which will be the independent Scottish craft brewer’s second venue in the city, will be located at Harbourside. The 100 customers will receive tickets to a raffle when doors open at midday, and the BrewDog team will randomly select a winner on the opening day.

The site, located near Millennium Square, will have 30 taps of craft beer and cider, featuring guest breweries from the UK as well as local guest beers from Yonder and Wiper & True. The bar also boasts an extensive outdoor area.

BrewDog managing director James Brown said: “We’re excited to have the opportunity to open the doors to our second Bristol bar and to continue to bring our ethos of craft beer and sustainability to a city already renowned for its environmental vision and great local brewers.

“We stock both our own beer and a selection of our favourite brews from local producers. We couldn’t be happier to be expanding here and being part of this fantastic city.”

Lots in store

A take-away service will be available at the venue, and customers can also choose to have beer and food delivered to their doorstep with BrewDog Now.

The Scottish brewer’s menu will also be on offer where 50% of dishes are plant-based and there are also food options for children. Dogs are welcomed at the site.

Big things are in store for BrewDog, which is set to open its biggest ever venue next month (August) in Waterloo station, central London.

The 27,500 site will be situated within the newly redeveloped location, the Sidlings. It will feature co-working spaces, a micro brewery, a GRIND café, duckpin bowling alleys, a podcast studio, meeting rooms, not-for-profit floristry, a retro ice-cream van and a ‘hidden’ cocktail bar.

Bright future

“This is our new flagship bar for London so we are making it a true destination. Record your own podcast, explore our hidden cocktail bar, or stoke some competition with a game of duckpin bowling or ping-pong. BrewDog Waterloo has something for everyone, and we cannot wait to open our doors this August,” said BrewDog co-founder James Watt.

Last month, BrewDog announced that its global bar business achieved revenue growth of 31% during 2021, compared to the previous year, with ‘record sales’ achieved so far in 2022.

BrewDog's bar division achieved total revenue of £286m in 2021 (+21%), up from £238m in 2020 and £215m in 2019.

The group ended the year with a £10.6m loss, compared to £12.6m loss in 2020.
