Heineken UK has ramped up the number of money-saving opportunities through its Buying Club in recent months, offering exclusive deals to its on-trade customers.

With these deals designed to save the on-trade more than £1m this year, there’s never been a better time to sign up. As talk of inflation, increasing utility prices and other cost rises continues, Heineken UK is determined to help its customers make considerable savings and earn more profit through the use of Buying Club.

“The reason I moved to Nisbets is because of quality of products and service, trading with Nisbets is faultless and if I have any issues they are dealt with promptly and professionally. I have spent a lot on capital this year and I believe I have saved at least £8,000, my account manager has always been on hand and deals with my requests very effectively and professionally.”

A standard outlet using the Buying Club’s discounts saves an estimated £5,000 every year, including savings on everything from waste disposal (through Biffa) to business rates relief (through Dunlop Heywood) to outdoor furniture (from Woodberry). Buying Club members receive 100% of the discounts negotiated by Heineken UK and Star Pubs & Bars.

“Would highly recommend this company [Dunlop Heywood] to other publicans it’s been so easy dealing with them and my rateable value has dropped by nearly £10k!”

With cost of living increases also making consumers ‘extremely concerned’[1], Buying Club helps operators boost their marketing services (with suppliers such as Displayways, Wireless Social and Useyourlocal) to drive greater awareness of their offering, events and promotions amongst the local community or visitors to the area. Consumers aren’t cutting back entirely on non-essential spend[2], so taking advantage of Heineken Buying Club’s marketing services, coupled with its recently launched free Social Media Training for Publicans, can keep your venue front-of-mind for different occasions.

Heineken UK category and commercial strategy director Charlie Fryday said: “By using the combined buying power of Heineken UK and our Star Pubs & Bars estate, we are in the unique position to negotiate deals with leading suppliers that independent pubs would otherwise be unable to access, saving operators both time and money.”

“Since contacting Biffa to discuss moving to them, the service I have received has been excellent. The account was set up with ease and whenever I have needed to speak to someone, they have been more than helpful. Compared to previous bin contracts, this contract has saved me hundreds this year, especially as I am not charged for going over weight on the occasional weeks when this happens. There was no upfront costs to pay, and I am happy in the knowledge that I do not have to give several months' notice should I need to cancel the contract, I literally pay for what I use.”

Each discount brokered is passed on in full to operators, with no kickbacks or commission. Suppliers are hand-picked based on their expertise, service level and credentials by Heineken UK and Star Pubs & Bars expert buying team, focussed on delivering the best value for money for their customers.
