Perfect pairing: Rogue Opera returns to Fuller's sites this summer for 23 performances

Large operator Fuller, Smith and Turner has announced the return of Opera in the Garden to its sites this Summer.

Produced by theatre company Rogue Opera, which was established in 2017 by singer Bronwen Stephens-Harding, this year’s production offers a variety of musical numbers showcasing opera’s heroes, villains and drinking songs.

She said: “We’re delighted to be back for another Opera in the Garden tour with Fuller’s.

Perfect pairing

“Bringing opera to new audiences outside of traditional theatre spaces is so important in keeping this fantastic artform alive and thriving and we’re excited to perform in so many great pub gardens.”

Taking place between Tuesday 14 June and Thursday 28 July, totalling 23 performances across 23 Fuller’s sites, the pub company said they were “proud” to be hosting the productions.

Fuller’s marketing director Jane Jones said: “After a phenomenal season last year, we are thrilled to be welcoming Rogue Opera back to Fuller’s pubs and hotels this summer.

“This unique show works brilliantly in the settings of our fantastic gardens and feels like the perfect pairing for a summer’s evening.

“We are proud to be the only pub company hosting theatrical productions of this size and bringing the arts to a wider audience at an affordable price.”

Pride of Fuller's

This comes as 80 Fuller’s team members from across its pub, hotel estate and support centre raised more than £24,000 for Fuller’s corporate charity, Special Olympics Great Britain, which provides year-round sports training and competition opportunities for all people with learning disabilities in England Scotland and Wales.

The fundraising tasks saw the team walk 26 miles from the company’s headquarters at Pier House, Kew Bridge, to the Sail Loft in Greenwich, crossing the River Thames 19 times using 18 bridges.

Furthermore, last month saw the business celebrate its Pride of Fuller’s awards after receiving more than 250 nominations and selecting 20 winners.
