The meal delivery company used the search analytics tool Semrush to record Google average monthly search volumes of pies in the UK.
With more than 70,600 searches, mince pie dominated the chart in top place, and banoffee pie, a dish that originated from East Sussex, placed as the UK’s second favourite with 67,600 searches.
Apple pie was a step down in third place with 44,400 searches, separated by only a hair’s margin from lemon meringue pie with 41,200 searches.
Rhubarb pie came in at bottom of the list in 10th place, with 3,620 votes. What’s more, the most popular recipe was ‘mince pie recipe’, searched 40,500 times, making it the nation’s favourite sweet pie to tackle at home.

This comes after the UK’s top 10 savoury pies were ranked for British Pie Week 2022 (7 to 14 March) by Hellofresh.
While traditional pastry pies did feature in the list, the top spots were dominated by mashed-potato-topped dishes. Shepherd’s pie scored top place with 10,8000 monthly searches, with cottage pie coming in second at 76,000 searches, and fish pie ranking third with 56,000 searches.
These traditional dinner staples accounted for 69% of the overall monthly searches for the UK’s top ten pies, but some pastry pies still featured in the list, including chicken pie, steak and ale pie, and pork pie, which came in at last place.

The UK’s top 10 vegetarian pies were also ranked by the company. Bagging top spot was cheese and onion pie, with 11,000 monthly searches, followed by homity pie, which is filled with potato, leek and onion.
