Three brothers set to open first venue after overcoming investment and Covid-19 challenges
Under the name Brothers Pub Co the trio have invested an additional £30,000 in the new concept, which is expected to open in a 2,000sq ft former Sharps furniture site in Market Square in Northampton.
The concept will see the return of traditional pub games such as shuffleboard and skittles as well as British tapas and cocktails. If the concept is successful there are plans to roll this out to other nearby towns and cities.
Perfect location
Josh Fitzgerald who has been planning the concept with his brothers Jack and Ellis for the last two years, told The Morning Advertiser it is in a “perfect location".
He said: “We’re trying to create a modern version of a pub offering extraordinary experiences.”
The concept is also committed to being sustainable with the team already having planted 1,000 trees to support the opening.
“We felt that what is the point of setting up a venue unless we can be sustainable,” he added.
Staffing plan
He also said that the company was planning to take a unique approach to staffing by limiting staff hours while also paying above the minimum wage with a minimum salary of £10 an hour.
The venue will also offer a British tapas-themed menu with 15 main British tapas dishes, three different burgers and a Beyond Meat Burger. The menu aims to provide plentiful options for the vegan and vegetarian customers.
The drinks menu will contain 20 cocktails, two sharer cocktails, four mocktails and there are plans for up between eight to 10 craft beers, lagers, ciders and alcohol-free lagers on tap and a selection of wines.
