Publican Awards 2021
Meet the finalists: Best Drinks Offer
Cheshire Cat Pubs & Bars
A former winner of both the Best Food and Best Drinks categories – and a finalist in the latter at last year’s gongs – Cheshire Cat Pubs and Bars was founded in 2008 by Tim Bird and Mary McLaughlin.
The company currently operates seven pubs, all of which were either closed or on the verge of closure prior to restoration by Cheshire Cat Pubs & Bars.
Darwin & Wallace
The operator of eight sites across the capital, Darwin & Wallace is a collection of neighbourhood bars which revolve around green credentials, bespoke design as well as a top-notch food and drink offer.
A previous winner of the Best Sustainable Pub Company gong, London-based Darwin & Wallace has been shortlisted in three categories at this year’s Publican Awards – Best Drinks Offer, Best Premium Food Offer and, once again, Best Sustainable Pub Company.
Berkeley Inns
With a portfolio comprising five pubs across Derbyshire and Staffordshire, Berkeley Inns is a fast-expanding pub restaurant group, according to its website.
First established in November 2014, the Group’s mission is to create high-quality food-led venues which benefit from the atmosphere of the local village pub.
The Meynell Ingram Arms’ shortlisting for the Best New Site prize marks one of three awards that Berkeley Inns is in the running for alongside berths in the Best Food and Best Drinks categories.
HQ Hospitality
With an estate comprising the Copper Horse Restaurant & Cottages, the Mayfield, the Plough and the Yew Tree Cafe & Bistro, all situated just outside Scarborough, HQ Collection is part of Yorkshire-based Qdos Entertainment, owned by husband-and-wife entrepreneurs, Nick and Sandra Thomas.
Offering eclectic venues to drink, dine and stay in, each of HQ Collection's sites offers an individually styled menu alongside unique accommodation options ranging from self-catered cottages to luxurious pubs with rooms.
