Elton Mouna, former MD of the Remarkable Pub Company, has created a four-part podcast to help steer the sector “through the choppiest waters business has ever seen”.
He’s teamed up with television presenter and psychologist Emma Kenny, author and TED talker Professor Vicki Culpin, US hospitality expert Jim Sullivan, and international business transformation expert Ron Ashkenas, to create the series entitled Bearing up when the chips are down.
Mouna, who’s funding the initiative himself to give back to the industry he loves, said: “I want people who are struggling to cope get something positive from the wisdom of my guests.
"The podcast aims to stimulate reflection, to right-size things, to offer thought provoking inspiring ideas, motivate action and encourage an immediate focus on planning and innovation for when the good times return.”
He explained that the series is aimed at anyone in the hospitality sector: “It may be a CEO, a bartender, a manager, a deputy manager, a chef, someone in the accounts team and importantly someone recently made redundant. If hospitality is the listeners chosen career the podcast is for them - right now.
"The podcast was created to foster hope and is my way of giving something back to the hospitality industry, an industry that has given so much to me in my long and rewarding career.”
The podcast is available on Apple Podcast, Spotify and all major podcast platforms.
