The brewer has joined forces with SocialBox.Biz, a London-based community interest venture and technology hub, to launch the Laptops for the Homeless initiative, which will benefit homeless people, elderly and refugees in London and beyond.
A Young’s spokesman said: “We absolutely love what SocialBox.Biz is doing for our community, by helping the disenfranchised to actually apply for jobs, connect with relatives, and get back on their feet.
“We want to be part of the conversation and help homeless people find some stability in their lives.”
Across the country
SocialBox.Biz is working to hit its 1,000th laptop handover milestone this April, having worked towards the goal for years now.
As part of the ceremony, the community interest outfit has invited notable personnel to witness the event that is helping so many thousands of people get their lives back.
SocialBox.Biz works hard to partner with as many public and private companies as possible, sourcing technologies that are no longer needed and working with accommodation partners to ensure they are put to good use.
SocialBox.Biz founder Peter Paduh said: “We are constantly looking for companies like Young’s that believe in advancing our initiative while helping people across our country.
“We thank them for their generous donation and look forward to future collaborations with them.”
