Alcohol licensing law company – Poppleston Allen – and its team of solicitors have been acknowledged for its licensing, achieving Tier 1 status in both the East Midlands and London, according to the latest results from Legal 500.

The directory – considered the ultimate benchmark for legal firms – disclosed that Poppleston Allen again had more of its solicitors ranked than any other licensing firm.

A record five of its partners were classed in the coveted elite ‘leading individual’ category – with Clare Eames, Lisa Inzani, Jonathan Smith and Lisa Sharkey joined for the first time by Graeme Cushion.

Next generation lawyer

Poppleston Allen’s managing partner Lisa Sharkey said: “I am particularly pleased that the hard work of Graeme, Hannah and Steve has been recognised by the directory.”

Last year, associate Hannah Price was named as a ‘next generation lawyer’ for a section of the Legal 500 that studies the health of law firms in terms of their talent bank for the future.

This year, she was recognised as a ‘rising star.’

Impressive rankings

Associate Steve Burnett, who was promoted to associate in September 2018, was tiered as a ‘recommended’ solicitor.

The firm’s Gambling team, headed by partner Nick Arron, was ranked Tier 2 in London.

Sharkey continued: “This is another set of impressive rankings for our teams and reflects the time we invest in developing relationships with our clients and delivering high levels of service.

“There is still much uncertainty in the market but, without wishing to sound complacent, we are still managing to retain and attract innovative clients who are looking to grow.”
