The Birmingham site is set to open in November – the Colmore on Colmore Row. The team behind the Market Cat, in York, has also secured a site in Leeds – the Bankers Car, which will be located in the heart of the city centre on Boar Lane and is also due to open before Christmas.
Both venues will take inspiration from Market Cat’s décor, drink selection and food offer. Thornbridge and Co also said it is proud to support the local beer scene, having recently sponsored Leeds International Beer Festival.
Fantastic city
Thornbridge Brewery CEO Simon Webster said: “Our York site has had great success and we are thrilled to have secured a site in Leeds. It’s a fantastic city with so much going on and an incredibly passionate craft beer community.
“We are also really pleased to be moving ahead with Birmingham as we know how much excitement there was when we first announced we would be opening in the city.”
Thornbridge and Pivovar joined forces to open new Thornbridge and Co sites across the UK in December 2017 with the aim to open 10 sites in the coming years.
Integral part
Thornbridge and Co pubs will aim to provide an expanding market with a quality craft offering and the opportunity for the full range of Thornbridge beers to be available to more people.
On the subject of opening sites, Pivovar owner and director Jamie Hawksworth said: “Both pubs will serve fantastic craft beer, hand-picked wine, spirits and soft drinks, and become an integral part of the thriving community in Leeds and Birmingham.
“As we have done with the Market Cat, we want to create visually stunning venues, where people can relax and indulge in all that we have to offer.”
There are also plans to open sites in Manchester and Sheffield next year.
