Pubco founders plot Lunar landing in west London
The food-focused pub company launched by Hubert Beatson-Hird and chef Oliver Marlowe will open the Hunter’s Moon on a 2,587sq ft site on Chelsea’s Fulham Road – the first of three planned launches in the next two years.
The Boxx Creative-designed venue featuring skylights, a vintage AGA cooker, a caged wine display and a semi open-plan kitchen will be split between a 25-cover pub and a 48-cover dining room.
The venue will trade seven days a week featuring a modern European-style menu created by Lunar Pub Company co-founder Marlowe – previously an executive chef at Michelin-starred London eateries the Glasshouse in Kew and Chez Bruce in Wandsworth.
What’s more, David Halewood, previously of the Coach in Clerkenwell, London, has been appointed as head chef.
Insatiable passion
“Having managed London pubs since 2012 for a variety of independent groups, it is with great excitement to open a site I can call my own,” owner director Beatson-Hird explained.
“The opportunity to do this with Olly is absolutely fantastic, as the food he creates is truly exceptional and we have worked together as a successful team in the past.
“With an insatiable passion for food and drink, my focus has been and always will be the facilitation of enjoyment in others”.
Owner chef director Marlowe added: “I’m excited to offer the type of food I love, in what’s going to be a very special setting.
“Food-focused pubs have been offering some of the best dining experiences in London and that’s the bar we’re setting ourselves”.
