Gin boom: maximise your sales as the category continues to grow

Gin sales are overtaking vodka for the first time in the UK and it is flavoured gins that are driving this trend forward – and there are no signs of the category slowing down. The latest issue of The Morning Advertiser, which is out today (10 June), has all the details.

In fact, data experts CGA found every £1 in £5 spent on drinks in the on-trade is on gin – and flavoured gin now accounts for almost £1 in £3 spent on gin.

This issue’s spotlight focuses on security in pubs and how operators can ensure their venues are safe for customers and staff.

This includes installing knife arches, being a member of Pubwatch, door security alongside building good relationships with the local police force.

Licensing specialist Poppleston Allen outlines how CCTV and security systems have become commonplace in pubs over the past few years and highlighted that operators need to ensure outside areas are also covered by these systems.
