Cheers to that: O'Neill's pubs are giving out free pints of Guinness next week to celebrate their 25th birthday

As Britons look set to enjoy a run of warm and sunny weather over the Easter bank holiday weekend – what better way than to pair it with a free pint?

Mitchells & Butlers-owned O’Neill’s Irish Pubs & Bars is celebrating its 25th birthday next week and, to celebrate, the pub chain is giving away free pints of Guinness to toast the occasion.

But what’s the catch?

In order to get your hands on the Irish tipple, O'Neill's will only hand over a pint to people who share its name.

That’s means only those who have a variation of Neil in their first name or surname will be eligible to claim meaning Neils, Neills, Neals, Neales and O’Neills alike are invited to visit their local O’Neill’s watering hole between 22-26 April.

O’Neill’s Pubs operations director Chris Brewer spoke of his excitement ahead of the chain’s quarter of a century birthday.

He said: “At O’Neill’s, we pride ourselves on providing the perfect place to party any night of the year, but for our 25th birthday we wanted to do something a little bit different.

“We couldn’t think of a better way to mark the occasion than to share our special day with fellow Neils."

But you’ll have to be quick as only the first 25 Neils in each location will be eligible to claim a free pint of the black stuff.

To claim their pint, all eligible recipients have to do is show their photo ID to bar staff.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming our wonderful guests to join with us in raising a glass and joining the craic for this huge birthday celebration,” Brewer concluded.
