Bottoms up: Love Lane Brewing Co triumphed at the SIBA National Independent Beer Awards 2019

The team at Love Lane Brewing is celebrating national recognition and success after scooping two awards for the quality of its beer – just 12 months after its establishment.

The brewery triumphed in its hometown of Liverpool just last month after scooping two awards at BeerX’s SIBA National Independent Beer Awards 2019.

Love Lane's Pale Ale, as well as its IPA Series Double Dry Hopped IPA, both won gold in the regional north-west award categories.

In addition, the Double Dry Hopped IPA won gold in the National Keg IPA competition, which was followed by its Pale Ale winning bronze in the pale ale category.

With more than 700 brewers entering the awards, Love Lane Brewing’s founder and chief executive Stephen Crawley spoke of his delight upon receiving the accolades.

“We are delighted for everyone at Love Lane Brewing, but especially the brewers,” Crawley exclaimed.

“Commissioning a brewery and winning awards within 12 months is testament to their experience and passion for Love Lane Beers.”

The SIBA National Independent Beer Awards judged a huge range of beers across a number of styles in separate cask, keg and bottle and can competitions, and are judged by brewers, industry experts and beer journalists.

SIBA chairman Ian Fozard explained how difficult a job it was to narrow down so many great entries.

Judges had a tough job separating the pack as the standard was extremely high once again,” said Fozaerd.

“The winners from the SIBA competition are officially the best independent craft beers in the UK, something brewers should be extremely proud of.”
